The Kanawha Valley area provides excellent learning opportunities for students from preschool through college. A number of schools have earned national and state Blue Ribbon awards, while several others have earned national and state School of Excellence distinctions. West Virginia has enacted Promise Scholarship legislation to allow any state student with a 3.0 grade point average and a minimum ACT of 21 to attend any in state college or university.
